Released on November 17, 1999, for the Nintendo 64, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is a tactical first-person shooter where you lead "Rainbow," an elite multinational counter-terrorism unit. Unlike "run-and-gun" shooters of its era, it emphasizes realism, strategy, and careful planning. 

Core Gameplay Features

• Tactical Planning: Before missions, you must review briefings and blueprints. You select your team from a pool of specialists, choose authentic gear (like the MP5 or heartbeat sensors), and plot movement waypoints for up to four teams.
• High Stakes: The game features high lethality; often, a single bullet is fatal. If an operative dies, they are permanently lost for the rest of the campaign.
• Mission Variety: You'll tackle 12 to 16 missions—including content from the Eagle Watch expansion—ranging from hostage rescues to bomb defusals at world landmarks.
• N64 Exclusive Mode: While many console ports lacked it, the N64 version features a unique two-player split-screen cooperative mode, allowing you and a friend to execute tactical plans together.
